Pros: Great mute with two modes of reducing volume. Much nicer sound quality for practising than with the large heavy rubber mutes.
Cons: Not much to dislike. Would be useful to have a larger effect on volume of late night practice. Bit pricey.
Other: Would be nice to have some way to attach to the cello so there is no risk of losing it.

The best of the bunch - by far
Pros: Easily the best mute I have ever used. It does not muffle the tone of my viola and the degree of muting can be controlled by how far the mute is pushed onto the bridge.
Cons: Although it can be attached to the strings' 'after-length' the fitting is not exactly confidence-inspiring so it's probably better not to try. However, there's always the possibility that the mute will be lost or left behind at the end of a rehearsal. It's quite costly (but I think the cost is justifiable).

Pros: Fantastic, lively sound compared to rubber mutes. Good workmanship
Cons: No cons
Other: Leather mute scores 100-0 compared to rubber mute. Rubber mutes should be banned and only wooden/leather ones allowed.
