Premier quality hand made rosin.
The finest rosin money can buy. Made in Germany using pure Larch resin with added metals, this rosin allows instruments to sound warmer, brighter and more lively. Use sparingly. The best results will be obtained when used on new, unrosined hair.

Pros: Helps to produce a beautiful clear sound, not sticky like other rosins I have used. Finally found a rosin I am very happy with!
Cons: Slightly big box - but wouldn't put me off buying it again!

Pros: Immediate improvement to sound with a smooth and rich tone. The block lasts a long time; I've had mine ages and it's nowhere near used up. Low dust both when applying and playing with little residue on viola and strings.
Cons: Large box is a bit of a pain (make pouches standard please...). Need to reapply fairly frequently if doing a lot of playing.
Other: This rosin is quite hard (though smooth) so a fair bit of pressure is required to apply properly to the hair. Long, smooth, firm strokes work better than back-and-forth short rubs.

Popular 'high end' rosin
Pros: Provides decent grip. Not a lot is required. Not sure if this is the same formula as the previous version. I still have a small cake of the old one in the small golden brown box.
Cons: it does leave a fair amount of powder if overused, although that's exactly the solution - avoid using too much! On the plus side it does wipe of easily with a microfibre cloth. The box is also far too big for what is a very small cake of rosin.

Good quality rosin for cello
Pros: Very happy with this rosin, which I bought following the recommendation from Julian Ogilvie in the recent London Cello Society newsletter. As per Julian's recommendation, I use it for my cello bow (not violin or viola), and it does seem to help the bow to move more smoothly across the strings than my old rosin did.
Cons: Quite expensive, but I am hoping it will last me many years.
