Sweet-toned Jargar gives me confidence
2 out of 3 found the following review helpful

Pros: Made a huge difference to the tone of the cello. The old A string was really piercing - now I actually enjoy playing high notes! Making a decent sound gives me the confidence to carry on with my new hobby.

Cons: First string snapped when being fitted.

Other: Service from Stringzone was brilliant. Their fitting tips were very useful for a novice like me and they were quick to sort out a problem I had. I'd very much recommend them.

Lovely string and excellent service

Pros: Lovely sound, the dolce is a bit less bright than medium, which was just what I needed so the A string doesn’t stand out/‘shout’, and blends well with the other strings (which I got in medium).

Cons: Unfortunately my first string snapped when I attempted to tune it up to A, despite having left it at G for a few hours - be very careful not to over-tighten!

Other: String zone sent me a replacement string free of charge when the first one snapped - very prompt and helpful service!

Good clear tone

Pros: I grew up on Jargar strings and still like their clear, controllable sound. They are powerful enough for me.

Cons: Sometimes they squeak a bit, requiring careful bowing.

Yes I'd buy again

Pros: Good sound delivery was good

Cons: When placing my order I wasn't sure what size string I was buying and just hoped it was for a full size cello as it didn't say anything

Other: An option to make sure of the size sting you can buy on your Web page.

High quality string for my tired old cello.

Pros: This string has transformed my cello, especially when I am playing in the 3rd, 4th, 5th positions and harmonics. Given the tremendous difference the A string made I have replaced the other three with Jarger strings and am delighted. I have had my cello for over 50 years and these strings make it a far better instrument.

Cons: None

Other: Good price
