Great dynamic range allows skilled players to explore confidently both the finest nuances of quiet passages and create powerful sonorities when playing close to the finger-board or using a strong bow arm. Instant response throughout the complete dynamic range. Very short play-in time, even shorter than Evah Pirazzi and Obligato
The power of Evah Pirazzi with additional warmth and depth.
Synthetic set with Rope/Tungsten 'C' This set provides the option to switch out for a tungsten wound, steel rope core C string.

Pros: The best strings I have ever had on my 16.5-inch viola. They take some time to stretch and settle down but when that's done they produce a warm, sonorous, and strong sound. The tonal integration between the strings is remarkable (especially the relationship between the D and the A strings). Unlike some strings these are not overly thick in their diameter - the C-string doesn't feel like a hawser underneath the fingers. The string-set is undeniably expensive but, in my opinion, it's money well spent.
Cons: Nothing that I can identify.
Other: Using Pirastro's Evah Pirazzi Gold resin is not optional.

Very happy with evah pirazzi viola strings
Pros: Clear tone, well suited to my viola. Hold their pitch well. Even tone throughout all the registers.
Cons: I have always used gut core strings before and I still love the sound of the gut core. However, for practicality, I have opted to switch to synthetic core. It has taken some time trying various strings, but I will now be staying with the Evah Pirazzi.
Other: Although they are fairly expensive they are worth every penny.

Didn't suit me or my viola.
Pros: Had some power.
Cons: Tuning stability surprisingly unstable. C string did not speak well. The strings felt like they choked the instrument.
Other: Was interested to try the newly-released steel core Gold Pirazzis with tungsten rope C string. I found these strings really disappointing on my viola, as mentioned above the strings didn't feel very willing to speak. Whilst I used medium tension Pirazzi Golds they felt like higher tension to me and I felt I couldn't get in to the C string. I was under the impression that a steel core gave better tuning stability, although it isn't usually something that has bothered me with other strings, other than when using Passione strings (which I love apart from their tuning stability). I was surprised by how often these steel core strings needed retuning. They have great reviews elsewhere so obviously suit some players, just not for me.
