Zyex synthetic core strings produce an extremely warm, rich sound. Zyex strings are made from a new generation of synthetic material, creating strings that are incredibly stable under drastic climatic conditions. Within a matter of hours, Zyex settles in on the instrument with a sound that is warmer than most other synthetic core strings. Zyex is also an excellent choice for use on bright sounding instruments.
These strings are medium tension. Click the link above to buy alternative tensions (long scale only) or single strings.

Pros: The Zyex viola strings were the first set of strings I purchased to replace the strings which had already been on my instrument at the time of purchase and were admittedly only bought because they were all that I could afford and still give me a good quality of string on my instrument. I found that these strings complimented my instrument well and gave good projection which was necessary especially when playing solo parts as principal violist in the youth orchestra. I had very little trouble installing these strings and any problems I did have were more to do with my still being inexperienced in changing strings. Towards the end of their life, these strings became very difficult to tune properly and suffered from a loss in tone along with a loss in the flair they once had - although this issue is common to all strings.
Cons: None

Pros: Settled relatively quickly; warm, full tone on C and G strings. D sounded nice after a couple of weeks. Lasted longer than most other strings I've tried.
Cons: Extremely loud. Very high tension so not the most pleasant to play. Rather dreadful A string. And did I mention they are LOUD?
Other: The most stable strings in the entire world. Possibly also the loudest strings in the entire world. Sound not as pleasant and warm as advertised but reasonably nice.
