* All strings are ball end, unless otherwise specified.
FULL SIZE - MEDIUM TENSION, SYNTHETIC CORE.
Similar to Dominant, but with a plain steel E, these strings have good response and a bright, clean sound.

Pros: These really make a difference - I had metal strings on this (early 1900's?) German fiddle for traditional music, but have been using modern synthetic strings on my "best" fiddle and have decided I prefer the sound. For the price, they're excellent.
Cons: I haven't found anything I don't like about them yet.
Other: I wanted these to replace some old metal strings on an old violin that belonged to my grandfather, to see if the sound could be improved.

Pros: I have been playing folk fiddle for about 3 years now in local sessions and always striving tro improve the sound that i get. As I am still very much a beginner it is hard to know what is down to my in ability or to my instrument. I have a moderately priced Westbury fiddle and have always used Dominant strings. I tried the Corelli Crystell to see if they would make a difference after reading some positive reviews. I think they do, there is good clarity of sound, the bow seems more controlled with improved string crossing especially when playing faster jigs and reels. I also find a good response when playing slow airs. I shall certainly stick with them for the time being.
Cons: I found that initially they didn't stay in tune as well as the dominant strings and needed 'playing in' and I didn't like the E string which I replaced with a Lenzner Goldbrokat which I am happy with but also have a Hill E to try.
